Wie sieht eine Schrift aus, mit der man ein Raumschiff beschriften kann? Diese Frage bildete die konzeptionelle Grundlage für die Entwicklung der TR MatchStencil, die 2013 als Nebenprojekt einer einfachen Schablonenschrift begann und im Laufe der Zeit zu einer Superfamilie herangewachsen ist. TR MatchStencil folgt einem klaren Gestaltungsprinzip mit rechtwinkligen Stegen und dem konsequenten Verzicht auf diagonale Balken, wie man es von vielen anderen Schablonenschriften kennt. Einfachheit und der Verzicht auf funktionslose Details bildeten von Anfang an den Kern. Mit der Fertigstellung der ersten Breite der TR MatchStencil entstand die Idee, eine geschlossene Version der TR MatchStencil auf Basis ihrer Formen zu gestalten.

What does a typeface look like that can be used to label a spaceship? This question formed the conceptual basis for the development of TR MatchStencil, which began in 2013 as a side project of a simple stencil font and has grown over time into a super family. TR MatchStencil follows a clear design principle with right-angled bars and the consistent renunciation of diagonal bars, as known from many other stencil fonts. Simplicity and the renunciation of functionless details formed the core from the very beginning. With the completion of the first width of the TR MatchStencil, the idea arose to design a solid version of the TR MatchStencil based on its shapes
